Calling all European members that have installed Michelin Pilot Supersport tires on their stock wheels, where did you buy them??

I've been trying to track down a set for my car but couldn't find them anywhere. They're available in the US for our stock sizes (225/45/18 and 255/40/18) from places like Tirerack but Michelin's UK site doesnt mention them and i cant find them anywhere else online.

Oh well...

Maybe the 265/40r18 will have to suffice until then?
I run 265/40 - 18's on the rear and prefer them over the stock size...

With stock sized fronts? How do they feel? Understeer/oversteer balance?
Good point as I run 235/45 - 18 on the front and the balance is excellent.
Not sure what running the stock size of 225/45 - 18 on the front would do.

I run them in 245 on the fronts (8.5J wheel) and 265 on the rear (10J wheels) sizes. TBH 245 is a bit wide and 235 might be better.

However, I also have track tyres in 225 (fr) and 265 (rr) and have no handling issues at all.

Hi, any problems with the bodywork or insurance company with these sizes? The Michelin website actually shows the Sport in 255/40 r18 :-
http://www.michelin.co.uk/tyres/car...electedFitment=complete&selectedFilter=summer
Must be a new size for Europe as I got my rears replaced in June, and at that time Michelin stated they had no plans to manufacture that size in the EU due to lack of demand.

Can't see them listed on any of the usual tyre dealer websites though.

Never mind, 265/40r18s will have to do for the next 15k miles :P

I spoke to Michelin UK today and was told that release of the 255/40R18 was imminent and production had occurred.Timescale 6 weeksish.

Finding tyres for the standard wheels is not easy as neither Michelin(PSS) nor Continental (Contact 5's) can do both ends at the present time and I don't fancy any of the other makes.

I am also a user of 235 fronts and 265 rears with no problems at all including track use. I am running 19" CSL's though so a slight difference.
