Yeah, I get all my brakes, pads, oils, wipers etc from there...
Event better when your borther in law is a manger of one of their branches and gets stuff at cost price Just serviced my wifes 1 series and he got me 6lts of decent oil, oil filter, cabin filter, air filter, and a large oil drain pan for £45! For example the air filter was £39 on the website and he got it for £2.89 
Just goes to show the mark up on parts when your buying in such bulk and how they can reguarly offer 25% discount and still make a killing :wink:

If my math is correct. That's a 1249% price hike on that air filter. That's obscene. I'm a firm believer in capitalism. But out & out highway robbery such as this is rather disgusting. :thumbsdown:

Don't want to justify it too much, but to get it at that price you probably need to order 1000s. Then you need to add in wharehouse cost as you not going to sell 1000s day one, plus you might not sell them all so there is wastage. Then there are other logistics such as picking and packing and the base cost is no longer £2.89.... They may also have deals with suppliers based on minimum spend per month all of which contribute....
and even at that price, it's still much better than BMW... :wink:

When I worked for a Yamaha dealer in South Dakota. We would take something like an air filter that we bought for $5 from the factory and sell it for $12-$15. That example is at the high end of the markup scale. Clothing and aftermarket acc were more along the lines of less than 100% markup. and we made enough money to pay the workers, contribute to retirement accounts, pay utilities, medical insurance. We paid what every dealer in America paid for the same part.
As an employee. We were told not to release to the public what our cost was. Nor what our employee discount amounted to while we worked there. as I no longer work there.
No matter ones position. Employees paid dealer cost plus ten percent for parts.
That's not like for like. Euro Car Parts are a distributor that happens to sell to public not a dealership / garage (as far as i know). The £39 web price probably relates to an end user price, a garage with an account wouldn't pay that. What's more they would likely loose account business if the web price was too cheap.... So they may make the occasional 1249% margin but that would be the exception......
Anyway I'm starting to sound like I'm justifying it..... I'm not trying to do that.....
