Had a great time reading your bimmerfest thread!!!! So it's up and running now? I see you're in AZ? Wouldn't happen to be Phoenix area would it? I'd love to see your rig!! Plus I'd love to pick your brain about ESS.

I'm wanting the ess kit for my 2.5 when I'm out of warranty next year. I've heard nothing but good things and that their kits drive like stock and have a NA feel.

Yes I do live in PHX feel free to PM me, If you want to see the car just let me know. Tuning should be done tomorrow.

How will this work for UK customers - is it just a case of ordering-in from the USA, or will there be/is there already an official distributor over here? The approx 22% import duty we have to pay is gonna hurt on $9000 ish..! Further to that, will there be anyone over here with the knowledge to do the install, or is it a forced DIY job?

Just PM'd you. I'm free to video or record your first tuned runs. I'm the Z4-forum'ers would love to see those!!

Really nice, what a beast

I would have thought that it would produce a bit more torque than that though, although it holds really strong to 7000+ RPM I suppose you can't have everything :)

for those who don't know, those dyno figures are "to the wheels"

can't wait to hear & see that thing moving!

i'm sure roman with his website & all those threads will be the right guy to post a great writeup & give us the right feedback on the system.. but against what cars do you plan to test your car? i vote for M5/M6 as a start, and then maybe 997 Turbo & Z06 :driving:

Tuning is almost done. AJ from ESS is driving it tonight and making some last minute changes. It gets finished up tomorrow then off to Bimmerfest Thursday. Nothing like the last minute to get it done :)

ESS are based in Germany, so anyone in the UK looking to do this kit can contact ESS direct. CA-Automotive also are ESS agents and can supply/fit the kit.

Roman - looking forward to the final write-up! :D

ESS is a norwegian company. But, the kits will be available for the EURO spec vehicles, and be able to produce slightly more power thanks to the EURO headers.

I posted some more info up and a short video clip on my site if interested. If you have any questions let me know I have spent the last few days picking the brain of AJ from ESS so I know a lot more then I did a week ago :)
