Entrapment avoided

Needed to drop IMmie into Dick Lovett to get the skipping CD looked at so a commute into Swindon was required.

I decide to risk the M4 roadworks as it's the Easter hols so trundled along doing my usual speed (indicated 80, 75 on the GPS) which normally avoids unwanted attention. So minding my own business and what do I see in the rear mirror but a 5er hanging back. I know plod uses a selection of unmarked bimmers but I'm in lane 2, passing hgv's in lane 1 and keeping pace with traffic, safe distance ahead so I ignore it. Lane 3 is clear

After about a mile this thing charges me and then backs off. "Twat" I think and ignore it further. It then proceeds to repeat said behaviour, several times, clearly wanting me to hoon off. I'm having none of it as I'm coming off at the next exit. I put it down as a bored rep as pc plod rarely behaves that way. Or so I thought.

Anyway, he gets bored and passes me, clearly looking for someone to play, and yep, as he passes you can see the additional lights and other stuff on the dash indicating this is one of her majesty's finest.

What an arse.

So chaps and chapesses, watch out for bored plod looking to provoke you into doing something dumb.

Unbelievable. Seriously Stuart, thats awful. I'd recommend writing a letter if I didn't think it would be ignored/cause you further issues.

It did make me wish I'd had a road hawk or other front and rear camera fitted. I'd have put him on YouTube just to see what happened

Happened to me on the M5 this morning but with an old astra he lost but after reading this i will be a bit more sensible in the future

Si-forks is tapatalking

That's the trouble with having a red car! When plod are playing 'car snooker' they need to book lots of reds...

This is common place my bro in law had a similar incident happen to him but he realised it was the plod before he did something silly, it must be great to have the world at your feet & be a copper who's untouchable & exploit their power on other road users

+1 write a letter. That's downright awful

This is exactly how I got three points!! 11pm at night on a duel carriageway a BMW comes screaming up behind me egging me on! I fell for the trap and put my toe down and the arse hole gave me 3 points and a fine for the pleasure!

what a dick wipe! Id have taken the reg and rang it through..... that guy needs a disciplinary!

Not a new tactic this one. It's happened to me also when I had mt MINI JCW S! BMW hurtled up to me. Ended up being plod trying to provoke. I didn't take the bait. Saw his lapel badges and slowed down to 10mph under the limit!!

Shameful but expected behaviour from those once there to serve & protect , now there to persecute & extort
My pal was shafted the same way on joining the M65 from M6 around tthe Tickled Trout , he was tootling home around 77mph in his S4 when undercover car was pushing up his bumper then dropping back , in the dark all he could see were the headlights ,
anyhow he hits the loud pedal on the long sliproad & reached 112 before the party lights came on
1 court appearance later £400 fine & 7 points  w4nk3rs !!!!

Definitely going to invest in cameras. After recent experiences I think a few hundred well invested.

At least then you would have video footage of them goading you that you could use as evidence when making a formal complaint. At the end of the day all police officers, have rules and regulations that they too have to adhere too.

You'll remember I posted about experiencing this several years ago on the M5. It's just not on!

The problem with having cameras on board is that they could also be self-incriminating. 75mph is still above the 70mph speed limit even if you have to do it just to keep up with the traffic.

I should also avoid making complaints to the police, you'll become a marked man. Years ago, someone was running a "massage" parlour with adverts in the local free Adrag in a private house opposite my business. Punters were parking in my business's private car park and coming out with their shirts sticking to their oily skin. I complained to the police and I didn't get the response that I expected, my property was vandalised by the pimp and the police were no help whatsoever, in fact, quite the opposite.
