Hi Guys,
New to z4 and recently picked up a z4m of one of the forum members :D
I'm looking at having bearings and bolts done in the off season, any recommendations for garages in the West Midlands?
Thanks Joe

Hi and welcome to the forum - and M ownership.

You definitely need a good specialist to replace your bearing shells - I've just had mine done!

If nobody has any suggestions you might find someone on this thread on M3CUTTERS:- https://forums.m3cutters.co.uk/forums/dealers-garages-specialists-companies-and-other-sellers-and-retailers.42/

Welcome and congrats on your buy

i found this place recommended on pistonheads:

can't say anything from my experience yet, but will probably visit him next week to take a look at mine Z that i bought earlier this week

Very highly rated beemer specialist, not cheap but you will get a first rate job.

Good evening all,

On the hunt for a Z4MC, hoping I will find one in the near future! Looking for a local specialist in advance, seems like Auto Tech Performance are no longer trading? Who are people using instead? Thinking about service work, as well as potential bearings and bolts.

Thanks.

Richard is a very experienced mechanic and changed the clutch on my E85. Not cheap, but reasonable prices and he won't charge for anything that he doesn't do. Tell him that Hugh recommended him and I might get a free oil change!

If you need something closer to Brum, then there's NCB Autokraft in Earlswood, Solihull - not the best location for public transport, so you may need someone to follow you there to act as taxi, but the lads (and Noel when they're busy) are very good, and have some nice cars stored there for customers.

Thanks both

Around Telford, Wolverhampton would of been ideal, but Solihull is fine knowing the car is in good hands!

Seems to be mixed views on when bearings should be changed, from what I am reading 50k seems to be reasonable? If I were to find a car with 30k odd miles, and decent service history, feel like I should be ok for a little while.
