Engine start up problem

Hi guys :)

My Z4 refuses to start up from time to time. It happens once per 10-20 start-ups. Engine rotates while holding the turned key, but it doesn't start (even after ca. 5 seconds). With a second attempt it starts instantly without any hesitation. I think, it happens only when the engine is hot, and nowadays it takes place a little bit more often than earlier (first time it occurred about 1,5 year ago or so). Anyone knows what can be wrong? :o

I am having the same issue as you. Normally it starts after one turn of the crank but occasionally it just turns but does not catch. The alarm has gone off a couple of times for no reason so I am wondering if it is an immobiliser issue?
 
Looks like our Z4s are suffering from the same issue. However mine alarm has never gone off - well, to be honest I'm not sure if I have one ;P I would be gratefull for any further info.
 
My E39 with the same engine is fine so not sure what is going on!

I shall plug in tomorrow hopefully so will let you know.
