Engine rough running and engine light on

Hi,
About a week ago on cold start the engine immediately ran rough and the engine light came on. I switched off and re-started. No rough running but engine light still on. Drove around the block and running ok.
This morning I drove about 5km’s to my mechanic for him to put his scanner on it. The engine light went out whilst driving. Running fine. The scan revealed a misfire on three cylinders, 6,5 & 3 I think. He cleared all codes and suggested fitting new spark plugs & coil packs. Also an oil leak at right rear of engine dripping onto exhaust manifold I think. Smoke coming from that area. Thoughts anyone?

Good advice from your mechanic. Replace all plugs and coils, esp if theyre old.
Oil leak will be a leaky cam cover gasket. Relatively easy to replace if you're handy with a wrench. Go for the Febi gasket kit and new bolt rubbers.
Use Permatex gasket-maker on the half-moons and corners of the (squeaky cleaned-by-you) gasket mating surfaces when replacing.
