Engine randomly cut out?

Afternoon all,

Had this happen twice now, the engine has just randomly cut out on the car as I come to a stop. It is almost like it has stalled but I am 100% certain that is not the case.. Or at least not down to me, clutch fully depressed etc.

Both occasions a quick turn off - turn on has fixed it then it seemed fine. The last time was about 1-2 months ago?

Anyone any idea what could possibly cause this? It threw up all the same lights as it would if stalled but... Why?

Hi,
does it happen at low speed? I've had it happen a couple of times when the revs drop too far at low speed and clutch is depressed. I think it's to do with the idle control valve or tps there's a few threads on those issues.
 
Yeah it is at very low speed, like talking 1mph.

Righty-ho so that's the issue then. I will have a search around on here unless you know of any threads to do with?
 
When bought mine, the (then) owner managed to stall it, and thought the engine had cut out. Hasn't happened since....

I see you have found the hesitation thread :) tbh it's happened to me a handful of times in five years so not much for me to worry about. I do have a spare tps and a can of carb cleaner in a drawer but haven't got round to trying some of t he fixes suggested on the thread,
