Hi All,
I am running into an issue twice: When i take the car (2015 BMW Z4 3.0 SDRIVE28I) for oil change to a service (non BMW expert or dealer), there is always a leak when i bring the car back. Turns out they are having an issue with Plastic Drain Plug. Last year, the guy used RTV (unknown to me) with plastic plug to solve the issue. i have the same issue again this year. I don't think using RTV for seal would be official solution. The O ring should be able to seal.
Question: Does BMW not make a metal plug? Also, has anyone used Magnetic plug.
Currently on hold trying to talk to the dealer.

Any insight will be greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance.

If it’s got a plastic sump it needs a plastic drain..probably someone butchered the sump earlier..

Thanks. Devon.
Turns out the OEM only makes plastic ones (now), there is a metal version, but its after market non-OEM. Ordered one from Bimmer world (URO Oil Pan Drain Plug with Seal Ring - N20/N26). Dealer recommended buying the after market version.
