Engine number / chassis number

Does anyone know where I can find these on an E89? - specifically should there be one in the engine bay?

The engine number is on the side of the engine - inbetween cylinders 1 and 2 from memory.
Chassis nber you should be able to see in the windscreen, on the passenger side.
