Engine mounts

So inspected my engine mounts today found 3 bolts only hand tight on the drivers side and a small split in the rubber! Passengers side seemed fine. So I was wondering if anyone has some second hand ones for sale as I intend to fit vibratecnics ones after Christmas so just need some cheep ones to tide me over.

for the sake of fitting twice why not just fit the libra-technics now?? you can still get them under black friday deals.

How big a job is it for a local Indy?

they'll probably charge something silly for these I'm guessing.

It's not a particularly tricky job I think. Simpsons said something like a couple of hours IIRC.

The car is a 2006 with 52000 miles. I will probably fit the viberatecnics mounts but could have done without spending that much just before Christmas, my original plan was to change them in March. I thought I would try on here to see if anyone who has fitted updated ones had their old ones and wanted to get rid of cheap to see me through.

demon tweeks had them on 20% deal codes but the codes were only for friday, they now only have selected items up.

A couple of hours?!? They count in a lunch in between?
Swapping out engine mounts is something a mechanic should do within an hour.
-loosen/remove the nuts on the mounts from the top (2 nuts)
-after placing the car on the ramp: remove plastic undertray and aluminium reinforcement plate (couple of screws and bolts)
- remove the nuts from the bottom of the mounts (again 2 nuts)
- jack up the engine with a transmission jack
-swap mounts
-put everything back together in the opposit order.

This is a very very easy job as far as mechanics go.

i did mine on my back in my driveway... not the most pleasant of jobs tbh, but while i was in their i replaced all the bolts that fail. it took me around 5 hours taking my time!
