Engine Managment Light problem

Hi Everyone.

Hope someone can shed some light on my problem. My Z4 is 04 done around 47000 miles. It hasnt been driven for around a week and a half due to snow. On sunday I decided to turn the ignition and all was ok. Yesterday I used the car for the first time to go to work. Got to work and home no issues at all.

This morning however I turned the ignition and the car is not idling properly engine managment light is on, I can only describe the car as sounding like an old vw beetle. Slight loss of power. Any ideas as to what the issue could be?.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the reply, Think it might well be a coil pack as its as if it is missing a cylinder. Will get a coil pack first as this would be cheapest solution.

Thanks again

djfrantik,

Welcome to the forum. As srhutch says could be sevweral thing - coil pack, O2 sensor etc. Just a case of elimination me-thinks.

Just thought I would update, Thankfully it was just a coilpack so changed that today, Also treated the z4 to a new set of kng spark plugs..... so all is well, Just got to get the engine managment light reset now.

Thank you to everyone who responded and helped me out.

Didint get codes read. Took advice from people here on the coil pack and swaped 1 by 1 until i found the culprit. Car is running fine now if not a bit better than before it broke.
