Engine Light on!

Hello All, I bought a beautiful E85 in Maldives Blue, have driven it for a couple of hundred miles and this morning have given it a nice wash to use over the weekend. As I took it out this afternoon the engine warning light came on and I tried to use my OBD checker but it couldn’t connect to the car! Has anyone got any advice of things to check? Car idles just fine, no sign of any misfires.

Cheers!!

BTW: Picture posted is ignition on but engine off, only the engine light stays on when engine is on.

Hi mate

I know the car well and have deffo attached my reader and inpa to it

Which reader are you using?

Can you see under the dash (may need to take the drivers side under dash panel off) if the connection to the port is still attached?

Hiya,

I’m using a Streewize scanner, pretty crap if I’m being honest. I still get power to the device when I plug it in, but just no connection when you run it.

I would advise getting your hands on a better scanner/system

There are threads on here with people who have Carly, inpa etc or pop a thread up to see if anyone local to you

Hello!

P0306 is the code and it’s a cylinder 6 misfire. I’ve cleared the code and will see if it comes back. In the meantime I’ve noticed that my long term fuel trim percentages are 13 and 14. Which is quite high.

Any advice? Vacuum leak? leaky fuel injectors? Lower intake boot bad?

Some data attached

Cheers

Swap number 6 sparkplug with number 4 sparkplug and number 6 coilpack with number 5 coilpack and see where the fault moves to...

All done and now errors since, I’ve driven the car 120 miles since I cleared the error and it runs a whole lot better. The air box had fallen out of its seal as well but that was definitely not an issue.

Still getting high LONGFT1 and 2, now sitting around 12 and 14%, whilst Shortft1 and 2 are hovering around neutral.

As usual, any advice is appreciated :)

Lower intake boot is fine btw!
