Engine Detail

How much engine detail do you guys do? Right now, my engine is perfect. You could set off of it. I would love to keep it that way. Would detailing the engine affect all the electronics or anything? I have come from an OBD1 world with little electronics so I never really worried. I like my engine clean.

THoughts?

My 2003 Z having been a summer toy since new, I don't have much trouble keeping my engine bay looking almost factory new. I do maintain it bi-monthly by removing all the dust that found its way inside and every Spring, it gets the hyper treatment;
- All surfaces and cavities cleaned.
- All rubber/plastic getting Zaino Z16 satin gloss
- Metal parts polished by hand.
- All painted surfaces are cleanded with Blackfire Gloss enhancing polish.
- Kidney grills are removed and the front radiator section gets the same detailing.

BTW, you can clean a dirty engine bay using appropriate degreaser and water, as long as high pressure is avoided.

Don't get me going on the wheel wells and suspension area... :oops:

I too love the view of a dustless engine bay. I find it a bit hard though to reach some areas because of the lack of space.
