This has happened a couple of times now engine running fine come to a junction and it cuts out but restarts immediately. Scanned for fault codes and got the following result
P0140 p0160 p0138 p0161 p2273 p0141
Looking online seems to indicate o2 sensor problem anyone have any thoughts?

I had a similar problem on a different car, if I recall correctly it turned out to be the throttle bypass valve. When I lifted off the engine was starved of oxygen to the point it stalled because the bypass valve was not allowing enough air past the throttle. Not sure if Z4 Engines have one or not though. I would of thought this would also throw an o2 sensor error as it would be out of the expected range the sensor should see under the given condition.

Problem sorted now ,whilst removing the disa to repair the flap noticed the rubber boot going to the throttle body was split replaced and all fault codes gone. :D

That was handy then

Smart work.. Good result. :D

Dare you even imagine what a Stealer would have charged you to diagnose and repair that. Plus that's after they had replaced the O2 sensor and a few other bits. :o

Can you tell the part number you've replaced? Mine does this occasionally as well and I'd give your fix a try.

The part no. For the boot is 7514867 cost £22.42 delivered from Harry Fairbairn Kirkcaldy 01592657800 ( they give discount to bmw forum members) you should be able to see any splits in it. The disa repair kit was from ebay and a relatively easy job to do
