engine bay photos

Hi All,

for the next modification to my Z4 im looking to change the colour or clean up my engine bay. so i am looking for ideas and thought others may have done this already. so can you all post up some photos of your engine bays.

Loads of stuff you can do, paint the rocker cover, replace half the engine bay with carbon fibre add a strut brace.

All I have done is put a strut brace in and put an enamel bmw badge over the plastic one

To change the colour properly you'd have to remove the engine & anything else in the engine bay, plus I think it would look odd & perhaps put off prospective future buyers, better off adding some shiny bits to take your eye away from the less shiny areas :wink:

No I mean just the engine plastics and parts not the inner wings. I hydrodipped my last car and had a show engine bay and just wanted to see what others have done with the Z. I am looking at Hydrodipping the covers in a carbon dip or maybe somthing a bit more way out there.

ping ranski (or search his threads) as he had a fair bot of his car hydrodipped - IIRC cj10jeeper and mac27040 also had engine bay parts hydrodipped.

I bet it wasn't that clean when it rolled off the line!

It was cleaned with an Apc and detailing brush and degreased, then several coats of aerospace 303 left to set in between coats.

Then all the bits that need grease (top mounts for example) greased up with brunox.
Probably won't have to do it again until late summer.

The engine bay is clean all the way through, not just what you can see from the top.

Be3bas, wow! That is amazing.

Silver colour makes a huge difference though. M54 3.0I comes with black covers which look so boring.
