Engine Bay Clean Up - Suggestions Please

Hi Folks,

I have never had a car that i have been particularly anal about its washing and cleaning until the Z arrived.

Externally i kind of know what i am doing on a slightly better than amateurish (ie it only takes slightly less than a day to wash and polish!) level but the engine bay has been neglected (in the cleaning sense).

I am thinking that it probably has never been done and is something that should be done / i'd like to do.

Has anyone got any wise words or suggestions about how to tackle this? - apart from dont jet wash it

I did mine just yesterday... it seems the engine bay isnt particularly subject to much dirt, as I'd not done in there for six months and it was just dusty. A quick wipe around with simonz back to black on the plastic work makes it look like new. Do the hoses/wraps, even a quick wipe of the stuff over paintwork removes all the dust/any gunk. Looks like new in there now. No oil, no marks, no dust, just as it rolled out of the production line.

Chemical Guys New Look Trim Gel

Autoglym ITR for stubborn marks on paintwork not plastics

AG Fast Glass is OK on black plastics

Plastic parts that are badly scratched i remove and respray

Keep mine cleaned on a regular basis
