 Newcastle Upon Tyne.
Was suprised to read in this months BMW Car magazine the Z4M has ceased production . :o

Figures given were 5070 roadsters and 4275 coupes built .

Apart from this weekend(Lakes) I hardly ever see either of these cars on the road suppose we will see even less now.

Keeps our cars rare and exclusive :D I've only seen one car in 18 months -parked in a Tesco car park! Not many round Merseyside!

Hi rov1, Im in Newcastle would be good to meet up, what colour is your car ?, Never seen any other Z4MC in the area

Yes that would be great. Off to Thailand for several weeks while Evolve install C.Fibre roof and install new exhaust and GM airfilter. If you send me a PM i can phone you on return from Bamboo land.

Have seen your link ,,so that makes two of us LOL.
Dave.

All Z4's have ceased production sometime during the last week of August 08. The last Z4 off the assemble line was an MZ4 Roadster and was on display at Homecoming... :driving:

Yep, here in North America we got 1,815 coupes and 3,030 roadsters, so over half the production is here. With the rest spread over the entire world, they've got to be thin on the ground in most places.

Au contraire, mon frere...the last Z4 on display at HC was a 3.0, not an M. :poke:

All the Zed versions are gone from US production. The new version of the Zed-car is now being built at the Regensburg plant in Germany. However, it remains to be "officially" seen what the new car being built there will be called, and if they will make an M version of it or not. From what has been said, it's probably still going to be called the Z4, but it seems like BMW likes to leave some doubt about whether an M version will be built or not.

578 Z4Ms in the UK according to BMW GB. Saw it on another site.

Not too bad, quite rare! Surprising as I have seen quite a few since I got mine.

Was is the perception of owning a car that is no longer produced? Does it make it rare, old, classic, more valuable, less valuable, case by case, what?

Thanks.

The car is simply out of production, no more, no less. It's too new to be considered a classic, old or antique by any reasonable means, too readily available to be considered rare or to appreciate in value. It's not a Ferrari Enzo or Carrera RS 2.7. The most likely scenario is that it will follow the same trajectory as its predecessor, the Z3.
