EML speed related?

Yesterday my EML light came on briefly and check engine stayed amber for several hours after I gave the car a bit of a stretch, it lit after some heavy braking.

Which code reader would people recommend and any guesses what caused the warning?

It could be a sensor.

I brought one of these. Very simple to use.

mmmm ive had the engine simbol on my 53 Z since Sunday now, car runs and drives fine, you think it would be worth getting one of these?? were do you plug them in??

Yes there is a little plastic cover under and to the right of the steering wheel and you simply plug a 16 pin connector and lead and turn the ignition on which powers the code reader. Batteries only needed if you wish to retain the code error in the handset's memory. Literally takes just a few seconds to read the error code with a brief description and another click deletes the error from the OBD and clears the emission light.
