I've recently removed the wood trim from my Zed and had it painted black. During the process I learnt a lot about how the Zed interior is put together.
When reinstalling the parts today I noticed that the bottom part of the rear console would rub on plastic behind the seats which causes a squeak/creak every time the car flexes.
I used some sticky foam on both the drivers and passengers side and it has made a difference. It doesn't look elegant but it's out of sight so doesn't really matter.
To do this you need to pop off the rear screw cap covers of the centre console (use a tiny screwdriver) and remove the screws this then gives you enough flex to put what ever cushioning material you want to use. A bit of cardboard would probably do it just as well.
Simple, quick, easy and effective. if I can do it anyone can.
