electronic steering warning

Hi,

a couple of months ago when i started the car up, the steering was really stiff, and the warning light was on the dash. I turned off the engine & restarted the car, warning light out & the steering was fine.

this weekend after a little cruise around the countryside when i stopped at a junction to set off the steering had gone stiff again - warning light on.

i turned off the engine & restarted as before - no problems, car drove home nice & easy.

The handbook says consult your dealer, its happened twice in 4 months.

is this a common problem or do i need to get it checked out?

anyone else experience this?

Heard that this symptom happens mostly when it's very hot outside. I would definitely get it checked very soon.
 
I had this year and half ago, (During the winter) Ended up a loose connector in the wiring loom.
