Electronic handbrake failure

The handbrake yellow light came on when I entered my car two days ago . Bit scary driving home ( hilly area) with no hand brake . Called bmw assist the car was taken to supplying dealer . Haven't heard what is the problem , or if the warranty will collect the costs .never liked the idea of electric handbrake .
Waiting for news .
Anyone had this trouble ?
 
Car home again . Re set electrics . Vines of guildford acted quickly to resolve it under warranty so I hope it's reliable now!!!?.
 
Well, I'm with you, I don't like them, but to be fair never had a problem with them on the various cars I've had that have the elec handbrake.

As well as the Z4 I've had A8 / Disco 3 / Passat / Megane Scenic and they cover over 150k miles between them with no parking brake problems. The Disco one is famously unreliable but not had a prob so far touch wood.

Glad it was sorted quickly and hope the issue doesn't return. I have used Vines for many years to look after my cars - they have always been excellent.
