I think Taz is wanting to install a camera that will be on all the time when the ignition key is turned to position1, not just powered from a live feed when reversing only, which I think is what will happen.

Depends where you break into the wire - if you tap off the brake light feed before the switch you should have an ign controlled live. Of course it also depends where the rev light switch is (on the gearbox somewhere no doubt) so it could mean putting in a longish wire run, but at least it would be under the car most of the way so wouldn't be too bad to install.

never thought of that, bluetooth must also have a switched feed
