Electric seat removal

Hi all,

Any help would be much appreciated with the problem I'm currently trying to sort
Currently trying to sort the passenger electric seat which is stuck in it's furthest position backwards, the tilt and seat height all work ok but not the forward and back movement, when trying the switch I can hear a faint click but no movement.
Fuse's all ok
I can remove the front bolts but not the rear ones to remove the seats
Thanks

Hi matey

Worth having a search on here there was a chap with the same predicament as yours about 6 months back

It wasn’t pretty…

If the issue is the switch, is there any way to remove it and hotwire to run the motor?

I tried a few searches on here to try and find a similar or solution to it but not seen that one, I have another look and see if I can find it
Thanks

With the click of the motor would that not show power in the switch or could I be missing something?
Thanks

If you can see the motor try giving it a good tap with a small hammer or largish spanner to see if it can be shocked into life, could be the brushes inside are stuck.

Manual but you’ll have the same issues

Two part video on Youtube showing seat removal if its jammed, rather a long two part and the state of his car is somewhat tired!!

Yes, but I didn't know where you meant you were hearing a click.

Thanks everyone,

Hopefully will get a few hours in the garage this weekend to have a go at all the ideas suggested.
Umfaan unfortunately seats are red but thanks for the offer..
I'll start with the easier options and move on although the video option looks an absolute pig of a job.
I'll update as I go so hopefully will help others in the future, these forums are a absolute godsend.

Thanks again

Had a couple of hours at the seat yesterday but to no avail, my next option is looking like the video option, I'm seriously thinking about cutting it out and finding a replacement to go back.
I'm now finding other issues as I go, had a few fault codes on my scanner, abs and DSC related after doing a bit more digging to my horror someone previously has blanked out both abs and traction lights behind the cluster. some people are just absolute.
Anyway I'll keep hopefully ticking the jobs off with the help of you guys.
Thanks.

First try calibrating the steering angle with a good code reader, also check out the wheel speed sensors in live data to see if they are all working. Take a further look at the brake pressure sensors on the master cylinder, you should be able to see them in live data on a good scanner. List the exact codes you are getting might lead us in the right direction for a cheap fix. Blanking out warning lights is certainly not the way to go, probably done by a previous owner who couldn't fathom out the cause.

Well finally the seat is out, i eventually went down the same route as the video sent by colb, thanks colb.
Definitely wasn't the easiest of jobs made worse by the fact the seat was at the furthest back position, and my hands have taken a right battering.
So after getting the seat back and base removed I had access to the whole runners etc. The problem turned out to be the gearbox part that the motors driver runs into it was jammed solid, I had to cut the spindle that runs across from runner to runner then removed the gearbox part then push seat forward and remove.
Does anyone know if this is a part available anywhere??

Job took around 5-6 hrs all in, I just have the fun bit now of replacing the part and reassembling the seat and back in.

Then onto the next job sorting the yaw sensor and airbag faults.
Thanks everyone.
