Electric door mirror stuck in the "up" position

Morning all,

I'm thinking (and hoping) that WD40 should fix this issue as I'm thinking the mirrors just haven't been used that much before I bought the car but I thought I'd pop on here and ask you wonderful folks before I start to fiddle.

This morning when I pulled my beautiful Zed out of the garage the left electic door mirror wouldn't go back down. Has anyone experienced this?

I can hear it "trying" to go but it just won't...

The drivers side is fine and is in the correct "down" position.

Any tips on encouraging it back to where it should be?

Many thanks in advance.

I would give it a helping hand - either way your probably looking at a new motor (ebay between £30 - £80)

If you do need a new motor and it needs fixing, will the garage you recently bought it from not pay and replace this for you? Good luck which ever way you go :)

Did you get the hardtop off in the end?! I always find it quite hard to get rid of a hardtop.

Ooo look I've learnt to quote more than one in one go! :o

I've tried gently pushing when it's trying to go down but I didn't want to give it too much of a shove incase I did more harm than good! I can hear it still trying which is the annoying thing...

Yes I'm hoping they will pay for it I'm going to take it across to them later today as they've said to bring it in.

Nope still not had the roof off but I've printed the guide and am taking it with me later for when I go to the garage hopefully we can do it then!
