Electric coolbox in the boot

For my trip to Italy I was planning to buy one of those electric coolboxes that powers via the 12v cigaret outlet. Has anyone tried to create such a power source in the boot/trunk? Thanks.

i looked to do the exact same thing for my trip to france - only problem was the cool box took up most of the boot space so i decided against it.

it should be pretty easy to hook up as the battery is in the boot, i planned to just clip it into the battery & either cut a hole in the carpet or run the wires up to the side - just make sure you fuse it & switch it off if your away from the car for a while as it could run the battery down.

I often carry a small cool box with me when I travel and have added a 12 volt plug in the trunk/boot for that purpose. It is attached to the battery and has a 15 amp in line fuse.

@WLH: That is exactly what I was looking for...do they sell the '12 volt plug to battery' as standard? Or did you had to do some modification on the battery end of the plug? Thanks.
