Eisenmann exhaust

Evening all....
Looking to purchase a new quad-pipe stainless-steel exhaust system for my 4. Right now I'm looking at Eisenmann 4x76mm tailpipe arrangement with Supersprint intermediate pipes.

At the point of purchase, I was asked, do you want 'Sports' or 'Race' pipes..... So sports is a 3dB increase over OEM and race is 7dB over OEM. The figures are all well and good, but I cannot determine for myself what that really means. For example, will race pipes wake the neighbours and prevent me from being let on circuits at track days??

Personally id go for the race as from what ive heard the standard is mildly better than oem and close enough to not make it worth getting.
 
Don't know where you are but consider having a custom exhaust built, with Eisenmann you are just paying for the name I was going to buy Eisenmann for one of my cars until I found a full custom built stainless cat back with a lifetime warranty could be had for £1k less and the sound tailored to my liking.
In my case (on my 650i V8) they built me a X pipe with dual centre resonators and dual rear race silencers with twin tips fully fitted for £700 and I am more than happy with the sound and quality of the work. I also got to keep the OEM exhaust so I could put it back if I ever sell the car.

Agree with the above.

I went custom quad.

I was eyeballing the supersprint but they wanted silly money and i probably have a better built system that sounds better than the SS and for allot less money.
