So after getting tidied up it was time to go for a thrash and see what the car felt like, in total i drove 60 miles, i went all round some fantastic roads i had not been on since i had my bike, all round the rural north Yorks countryside, had a fantastic play with a guy in a Caterham who could just not cut the mustard on these roads.. , we stopped in Helmsley and had a chat he was well impressed.. . The car feels so much more sharper on turn in, the steering response is awesome, grip levels have certainly increased to enhance corner speed, and I am well chuffed it gets up the drive without bottoming out, i can tell as soon as i got home that the drive out has made the car sit a little lower already, on a minus point though I don't know why this is but the auto self level on my xenons has stopped working, not sure if this is coincidence but any ideas then please point me in the right direction.

Anyway, after a coffee in Helmsley with a sore Caterham owner. I headed back home via Castle Howard and by pure luck the security guard was just moving off so i took advantage and went for a photo shoot, here's a few pics,

enjoy...

Looks great, love the bumper. You thought about painting the grills black, would look cool?

Edit - can't believe both springs were cracked, did you ever hear any noises from them?

Funny one on the grills Mike, last week i changed them back from being satin black !!!, they are actually a vauxhall coulor called "Rembrant silver" which has a hint of gold and they look fantastic in the flesh, as for the springs never had a clue, car never felt any different..

Nice project - and some great photos taken today - well done

(I'd best look at my springs tomorrow and check now....)

Have the new springs made the ride any harder? I have M sport suspension and would like to tweak it a bit, but the last thing I want to do is create a bone jarring ride

Phil, i can't say the ride is much harder to be honest but christ this thing carries some corner speed...

Interesting, I never realised. I'm undecided now after a quick PS

With the chrome outer painted black as well it would have looked sweet. Aerokit sideskirts would be a nice mod now, and some spacers for the rear wheels :D

The ///M bumper is far and away the best looking.

Hmmm, I did consider black for the chrome surround but it's one of them things where there's no going back and i would like to see it first before jumping in, spacers are on the agenda but not sure as to how much 10-20-30mm what do you think???????, Also am going to get a four wheel alignment done in a few weeks when all has settled down, will fit spacers before that..

The wheel offset always seems to look worse in pictures than it does in reality, the pic I PS'd probably shows it at the worst angle. I reckon 15mm spacers if you can get them will probably be enough to fill out the arches a bit more.

I would love to do that to mine but if I did I would be replacing my front bumper with alarming regularity... :(

Can someone tell me about a sensor i may have broke that does the auto self leveling on the xenons coz it's stopped working :( :(

The xenon auto-levelling sensor is located on the passenger side front lower control arm. It might've simply been unplugged by accident when you were installing the suspensions. Double-check to make sure the plug is connected properly.

Edit: Didn't notice you were from UK. Make that the driver side then.

Do all the M bumpers have the polka dot reflectors on the side? I thought that was just the americans??

Only the americans have it, seems there are some special US regulations coming into play here

Sorry guys forgot to answer that one, the M bumper on my car is actually a US spec item, which is why it only cost me £80...
