Eibach springs(and powerflex bushes) pre 2006 3.0i/opinions

As per title,i was wanting ppls opinion of the Eibach springs,for those who have had them fitted/espcly on pre 2006 3.0i,as i am thinking of doing this soon.
How would u describe them in terms of comfort levels/compared to the standard 3.0i setup,as i dont want it to be any firmer a ride qaulity than the std 3.0 setup(unduly so,anyway).Also,how do u find it over sppedhumps,clearance-wise;and is there any noticeable handling gain/improvement?? And,are they less/equally prone to snapping,like the bmw 1s,as i have had 2 of t my std ones snap in the past 3yrs!!
I have already got rid of my Runflats(nrly 2yrs ago),so would be especially interested in hearing from those who have this setup,and who have ditched the runflats;and if u ditched the rfts before fitting the eibachs,even better/for comparison,cheers.

Also,any op's on the Powerflex bushes,in regards to any noticable improvement in handling,and any affect on ride comfort(again on a 3.0i),and what ones u fitted,i.e full front and rear,or front only,etc?...cheers :thumbsup:

Not got the powerflex bushes but have had Eibach's in conjunction with the 'M' suspension for a couple of years now.
I originally changed when still running my 17"s on Non-RFTs and found that the initial part of the spring movement is more compliant than the OEM springs, I have since changed to running 19"s and still think ride is improved over standard.
I'm pretty sure Ally has fitted both Eibachs and Powerflex bushes and reports similar findings.
Not scraped the front any more than I did previously and even managed the recent Skye run without scraping my new M bumper which is another 10-15mm lower, though I get the feeling it's only a matter of time.

Hi, mine is a 2006 3.0 so not sure how much this will help.
I fitted the Eibach Pro's about 4k kms ago. There was very little difference in ride height, about 15mm front and 10mm rear so no issues over speed humps etc. The ride imho was slightly better in that the springs seemed more compliant than the OE one's. When accelerating hard on a not so good road surface there is noticably less activity from the traction control. Despite that when cornering there is certainly no more body roll than before, in fact it hardens up very quickly and grips well.
As for bushes I have'nt done the whole set (yet). I fitted powerflex poly track control arm bushes and a strutbrace at the same time. In all honesty I'm not sure the strut brace has made a whole lot of difference (it's a coupe so quite stiff anyway) but the turn in and general steering feel is much improved with the polybushes. I did'nt polybush the rear, I fitted CSL RTA bushes with the Turner Motorsport bush limiter kit.
It's hard to gauge exactly what proportion of improvement can be attributed to each of the mods but together (with the non RFT's on 19"s) the car rides better, turns in better, has better traction and feels more secure and managable when pressing on.
I have no regrets with any of the mods so far and would recommend them.
If you are not sure what to do or what it is you want why not have a chat with one of the guys at Simpson Motorsport. They are very friendly bunch and a fountain of knowledge regards tuning BMW's including the Z4. Must be worth a phone call..............

Don't worry, I'm here!

I always forget I've actually got the bushes fitted. I had mine fitted approx 7k miles / 18 months ago (i think) after recommendations about getting a more stable base before getting a decent geometry setting on the car. The OEM bushes are huge soft rubbery lumps which apparently allow a lot of movement (but have the benefit of being good for refinement, which I guess is BMW's intention). I also heard that BMW bushes can have a tendency to degrade and since I was replacing broken springs and was in that frame of mind, I just ordered the bushes too...

TBH I've noticed zero difference in harshness/ride quality caused by the bushes. I had the Eibachs and bushes fitted at different stages. IMO the springs give a great ride quality: I can't compare directly with OEM sport springs as both my rears were snapped when I bought my Z4, but the quality is fantastic for a sports car. I'd prefer they maintained the standard sport ride height if I'm being honest, although the height doesn;t worry me or cause any problems with clearance etc.
 
Cheers,ally...good to know it doesnt feel any harsher,ride quality-wise. i take it u have the pro sport springs/or is there only the 1 choice for the z4,from eibach??

i fitted a strutbrace 2yrs ago,and the turn-in on my roadster was much improved,but good to hear more positive comments on these..and again,are these the pro-springs??
