eibach spring

Hi are eibach springs ok to put on standard shocks and if so does the ride sit much lower and is it a ok smooth ride aswers much appreciated

Yes they're fine on standard shocks, they lower about 30mm on standard suspension and 15mm on M Sport suspension. Do bear in mind that pre facelift 3.0i and SE have M sport suspension as standard (confusing I know). Ride wise they are apparently a little more comfy than the originals but I haven't yet fitted then to mine so cant personally confirm that.

I would give some thought to replacing your shocks if your still on the originals as they will have covered considerable miles and be somewhere in the region of 8-13 years old.

You can fit them regardless of which car you have.

Look to replace your shocks too, they will be knackered by now.

Your 2004 2.5i SE is mostly likely on SE/Standard suspension meaning the Eibach's will drop your car 30mm. Its rare but some 2.5i SE are on M Sport suspension as it was a cost option from the factory. To be certain either post a pic of your car side on here on or run your vin number through one of the online vin decoders.

As Steve says you can fit then regardless but it would be well worth doing the shocks at the same time, even if they dont look knackered visually they probably will be. I'd go with one of the Bilstein options, either the B4, B6, B8 depending on your budget. If you go for the full beans B8 then get the B12 Kit which includes the very Eibach springs your looking to get. It works out cheaper than buying separately. Ebay Germany used to be the cheapest place to buy the Bilstein stuff, but with the exchange rate the way it is I'm not sure if this is still true.

Cheers chaps had mot done October 2016 so assumed shocks ok found it unusual for spring on drivers side front to have snapped sitting in my garage from what I have read normally rear I am looking to buy front and rear so all corner springs done

MOT Only checks visually.

I replaced the shocks on my M recently. They looked fine but realistically they were shagged, and once off the car they were really easy to operate by hand. The Bilsteins were a welcome improvement. I have the B12 kit and can highly recommend it.

10 at the front and 15 at the back, or the other way around!
