Eibach Pro Springs, Pictures and first run out

So my Zed finally got its rear discs on after about a month with the new fronts on.

Needed new hand brake shoes so they were changed as well.

What was also noticed was one of the rear springs has gone. Was fine for the MOT four weeks ago.

Rather than replace with OEM springs have just bought the Eibach pro kit from awesomegti. Looking forward to getting them on. Thought about doing it before but was waiting until it needed something doing. Unfortunately with holiday season coming up it still doesn't warrant the B12 kit which was in my head to do. :)

Is it worth doing the rear bushes along with the turner kit at the same time?

Other option is to use a polyeurthene bush which won't deflect either.

Any opinions on the merits of both of these options :?

Replaced my springs and bushes with H&R ARBs and lowering springs

Hated hated it at first on rear and stiffened it to hell

But after a week of driving= love it:)

Hopefully not going to have too much of a difference to the ride. The Eibachs are meant to be between OEM and H&R from reading on here and elsewhere so I am hopeful.

Need someone to have a list of all the bushes I should replace while I am doing it. The car has done 80k already so it will need them even if to me it still feels tight. :?

Bushes will come with your new bars if get them buddy
Springs are good but I'd do bars
I love mine, took Bmw addict out in mine last Saturday and happily chatting a cough cough 130
Round a bend and he was shocked at how car felt :)

What settings have you got your H&R bars on front & rear?

I'm going to install some soon and seen a recommendation from a retailer to use maximum stiffness on the front and middle on the rear...?

Really?
I wouldn't
Mine are set in middle and that's enough for me
On max, you could over stress other bits, it doesn't move at the moment as it it haha

Well I changed the springs but only the springs. My mechanic said that all the bushes are in good condition which was just as well as I hadn't bought any!

The Eibach springs lower the car by 20mm at the front and 10mm at the back and sometimes I think you can see the difference and other times not so much.

Today was the first time I could get a proper drive since the springs were fitted on Friday apart from the daily drive home.

I think the ride is as OEM under normal driving but maybe a little stiffer around the twisties.

Took it around Kinlochleven "ring" which has more twist than most and definately more rise and fall. The springs were very composed although I was happy with OEM as well and it may be in my head.

I had forgotten how good a wee road this and I must try and do it more :driving:

It follows the coast all the way around the Loch and I never encountered another car tonight at all.

A couple of pics

Always great pics AS , as for the springs ? Just my own opinion before all the amateur race drivers start yelling but unless its going to be a track weapon or you want it to sit lower for aesthetics I would stick with OEM set up :? i'm sure they spend more time + money in r&d than any of the aftermarket companies do

I wanted the car to sit a little lower but also not ground or be in danger of grounding when pushing on. The feel of the car around the Loch was great but it was beforehand. I think it was okay to go to the Eibach springs as it is a very OEM feel. I was driven in a Zed with H&R springs before which felt a lot stiffer and crashier.

Only minor disappointment is I think the rear especially could have been dropped a little more for optimum look but the most important thing is the ride which feels great.

Overall happy with the subtle difference to look and handles great

Looking good, don't worry about the initial drop, they will settle a bit more and probably drop another 5-10mms, to which they will definitely look snug, and imo ride better than oem, but I switched from continentals to pss so the pliant ride could possibly down to combination springs & tyres

Remember your wearing 18s buddy
So gap will be bigger as mine was when out mine back on temporarily

But now OEM CSLs and H&R lowering
As arbs and wouldn't have it any other way:)
Not crashy at all and that's at speed on B roads :)

They will settle still though
