Funny i fitted new EBC greenstuff front pads with new discs, now get EBC warning!

So when i brake sharp yellow brake warning lights up.
On iDrive says EBC failure.
Goes if i restart engine.
Obd codes all sort come up, brake switch, abs, etc..
But for a moment on iDrive said brake switch failure, then disappeared. Code reader says the same.
So have ordered a new switch................bet it doesn't cure the problem.

Hasn't come on today, hopefully cured.
Just run through as many reset options as possibly obd reader.
EBC...only thing i can think of is electronic brake control??

Did you change the Par wear warning sensor too?
I had similar dash lights intermittently when i put new rear discs on

Mike

My wear sensors i tied up out of the way, been like that quite a few years now.
Warning is slightly different now, comes up after 20 mins after a sharp brake action.
Still yet to replace brake switch.

I was involved in a weird EBC case, where the temp sensor inside of one of the electric motors of the handbrake was corroded and delivered a wrong signal.

Hmm, but it had a different fault code:

Comes on every day now about 15 minutes into journey, about same spot on road as i brake.
Obd now says dme brake light switch, dsc eng. management, parking brake control unit, interface dsc.
Cancels on restart.
So could just be faulty ebrake motor.
Check obd volts for brake units.
I replaced couple years ago with cheap £25 units, might be cheap for a reason.
I have had now for year or so red ebrake light flickers on dash, like some bad connection when ebrake applied.

I have an F-type that had a very similar problem with a park brake caliper motor.
I would start the car with no warnings, the second i put it in gear and the handbrake was released automatically, it would bang the park brake back on and throw loads of messages onto the dash.
I swapped the motor over and everything was back to normal, i bought a mid price range motor (about £45) and it was identical to the one i removed, same case stampings etc.

Well cured i hope. No warning lights.
One of the wires to brake light switch had broken inside the plug.
Only way i could repairs was to dump the plug and use some connectors of similar size, sanded down to fit.

Parking brake on light on dash worked great for 15 minutes, now just dull, so given up on that.
At least that no longer flickers.
