I wouldn't normally do something like this, but under the circumstances I feel I have to.
I bought this e89 iDrive headunit from this seller to find out it is in fact a Japanese import unit. Now on the whole it works fine, except that it only has nav maps for Japan on it and you cannot change the maps for any other country (you can with a unit from any other country apart from Japan!).
I contacted him back and had no problem in returning the unit for a full refund. All happy and above board.
I've just checked and he has put the same unit back up for sale at the same price and without any indication of the maps issue (I did explain it fully to him).
So in short, if you want a replacement headunit and are not bothered about nav then it's a good unit, but if you still want nav (selling point!) then give it a wide berth.
