E89 Z4 Roof Not Folding Back

Hi guys

My car is being a little naughty, and after 8 years of blissful driving it's finally given me a problem.

I'm getting the "roof movement impaired" message, with my roof not having it and refusing to go back. I had the fault diagnosed as a Hall sensor malfunction.
Unfortunately, the guys who diagnosed it are away on holiday for a month and I'm not prepared to wait.
Can anyone tell me the best place to take the car to?
I don't care where it is, I'm willing to drive from one end of this island to the other, as long as I get someone decent.

Did he tell you the fault code? And can you post a picture of what position your top is in?

Chippie, the tumbleweed was posted as a joke. I just wanted to see it working.
I'm in Cumbria, but that's irrelevant. As I said, I'll go from one end of this island to the other for the best garage to do it. Local usually amounts to trouble.

Oh and btw, the hardtop closed again fine.
It's the first problem in 8 years, I've not even had to change a bulb.
I can't be upset even if I needed a new roof.
