In the mosh pit
So popped into my local dealership yesterday to have a look round their new showroom and the buggers made me a offer to buy the Zed,this of course has given me a bad case of itchy feet
I've owned the car from new - June 2014
What's your thoughts on the price I would get as a private sale ?

The car is a manual 35i Msport with a milage of 14000 - NO SAT NAV :D
19" 326 alloys
Adaptive sports suspension
Comfort pack - wind deflector/extended storage/park distance control front and rear/cruise control with brake function/exterior and interior mirrors folding and dimming
Steering wheel heating
Heated and memory sports seats
Windscreen with grey band
Bmw advanced speaker system
Enhanced bluetooth telephone with usb and voice control
Design Pure Traction in comb. with M sport package
Bmw individual hardtop with contrasting paint work
Service inclusive

Any thoughts :tumbleweed: :)

Very hard to say. Given that their are not many of these cars about in the first place.

Given that you can get a 35IS circa 20k miles for around 20k ish, i would say somewhere towards the 20k mark but not much higher.

The issue you will have selling privately is past a certain price point people dont have the funds.... makes it harder and harder the more expensive the car.

It's a tough one, but you'd get more private? Granted you'll get time wasters :headbang:
Not even sure I want to sell and the thought of dealing with the time wasters isn't helping :?

Am I missing something or was there an offer price involved?

Yer there was an offer from my local BMW dealership but I was just curious what people thought it would go for in a private sale (this isn't a for sale thread by the way)

So if, hypothetically, you were thinking of selling what would you, hypothetically, replace it with? :)
Hypothetically and if the wifeys in a very very good mood  Daily - Abarth 595 turismo Weekend - Westfield Sport 250

When private buyers are looking at motors around the 20k mark they usually need the reassurance of some kind of warranty which is where the dealers have the edge, unless you have an extended warranty on yours.

I sold my 35is (19000 miles and no nav) last September to Mike Brewer Motors (has showrooms in Luton and Sheffield). I was offered £22600 via their online valuation and was given exactly this price pending a brief inspection of the car. The money was in my account within two hours. I do sincerely recommend them.

They listed the car for £26000. WBAC offered me £18k and BMW..... I'm not going to even going to say.

The zed has recently sold I believe for a just under £23k.

Good luck

Cheers :D

You played a good hand id say
Your 35Is ( OPs car is 35i) made the dealer a couple of hundred ££ in 5 months so its unlikely they will make the same mistake again
For the majority of vehicles the WBAC valuation + 15% is a a realistic figure you should get very close to as a private sale

Thanks for the info
To be honest the price I was given by BMW was sight unseen as I was in the wifeys car at the time but if I could get near the top price they offered I'd be happy
