e89 rear shell manual open

There's a black plastic cover on both ends of the head lining, plugged into on both ends.

To pull out only the rear end, it must be bent sharply. Risk of crash, no playground!

You can't buy it as a replacement!

Only in a bundle with the rear head lining for about 700€, ~1.400 NZD here in Europe.

The question is:
What do you hope to achieve with these uncoordinated steps without any diagnosis, or even a clear diagnosis?

You are on the way to damage more than before.

without your help I would never never have found it,and with no fault code I thought checking for faulty wireing I could then count that out,,I have to do something towards the project
 
INPA is a valuable tool for diagnosys, there are other's as well.

This is a similar case, under investigations since 3 months!

Hello fellow Z4 owners,

I'm seeking help with my 2011 BMW Z4 E89 SDrive 23i. My retractable hardtop has been malfunctioning. This started while ago. Sometimes it did it initiate while opening or closing, I leave the hardtop at that position either closed or opened for a week or two, then it working fine, but they persist.
Last time a month before when it was in closed position, I try open the roof, both shells went into the trunk but the lid not closing. so i waited in that position for a week, but no luck. error like not latching then A6A5 code appears everytime I try to open or close...

There is generally no quick fix, which is why almost no one in the world has experience with these roofs.
