E89 Rear centre speaker

Hello everyone,

Looks like the E89 comes with a centre rear blank for a speaker.

Anyone know if this is pre-wired or do you have to trail a cable to it?

The rear centre speaker (midrange and tweeter) is only available for the Top Hi-Fi amplified system. So it's not pre-wired, and nowhere to run the wires from as the amp isn't there. Now if you have the Subwoofers in the rear panel then you have the Hi-Fi option, and although it doesn't have a dedicated rear centre channel, you "could" piggyback this from the front centre channel, BUT it wouldn't sound right as that's not where that sound should come from, so it'll sound off.
If you don't have subwoofers then you don't have anywhere to run it from.

Anything is possible though, and with the addition of an amp or two you could adapt the current system to what you want

To be pedantic it’s acoustical illogical to drive the rear centre speaker with a feed from the front central speaker…may as well drive the back right speaker from the front left!

But logic never applied to modifications ..

I think it is good the way it is...
There is an adv but shows how it can be upgraded and shows the sound before and after


Any way, I believe it is good the way it is ..
