E89 Puddle Lights

Recently brought a 2012 E89 2.8 and for some reason the puddle lights stay on once the car is locked. Any ideas anyone ??

After reading other posts, I'm actually referring to the door handle lights. Can't believe it's normal but welcome any feedback.

No that's not normal - how long do they stay on for?

I can't say I've noticed them come on when I lock the door - I'll check it out
Mine go off when you open the door

Didn't know I had puddle lights! ... maybe I should take it out in the dark! ...

The should fade out after a few seconds. A long shot, but I wonder if they are linked to the settings in the I drive for either courtesy lights / follow me home lights. Its in one of the settings where you set the auto lock etc etc. Maybe worth checking that the time there is not set to some stupid length of time? Worth a check.
