E89 New Exhaust tips

I just squirted it with WD40 and then a tiny tap with a bolster and persuader, it came off in seconds

I’ll keep my fingers crossed!

I got them fitted this afternoon. As recommended I sprayed the old ones with WD40 left it for a couple of hours and they came straight off using a strap wrench. Minimum effort! Now all nice and shiny.

Just got my new tips fitted. Got the £12 ones off amazon. Very happy with them.

See, to my eye, they would look better straight across, but I guess to achieve that the inboard one would hardly project at all.

I tried it a couple times but the way the pipes are, they don’t sit right. The right pipe is as far in as it goes and the left pipe goes in much further so I had to pull it out but couldn’t pull it out to be level as it would have fallen off. It’s not ideal but I’m very pleased for £12

Oh it wasn't a criticism. Just my personal thoughts that's all. I did wonder if the fitting would be a limiting factor.

Yeah, the pipes on the back box are obviously staggered, which I didn't realise. The original tips are much shorter so kind of hid that.

Hi all

I have just purchased some new shiny exhaust tips from Amazon for my new E89, the old ones were really dirty and rusty and i did not think they would polish up well.

They were only £23.99 with next day delivery, the old ones needed a bit of persuasion to come off but managed it with a rubber mallet and small piece of wood.
