e89 LCI headlight conversion

So it looks like BMW may be gearing up to offer an LCI headlight (better LED rings, plus led eyebrow) conversion option;

Ignore the picture as it shows only wiring and side repeater but look lower at the parts and title of the page.

Seems legit - wonder how much they'll sting you for those though :cry:

Is there that much difference, or are you basically buying brighter LEDs and an eyebrow ?

Brighter LED Halos and an eyebrow yep that's pretty much it. They're a slightly different design and yes it will likely cost a bomb.

New e85/86 xenon units are £6-700 each, right ? Bet its a £2k+ mod in e89 land...

Thats just for the headlight housing - the internals add another 500 :)

So for e85/86 the cost is £1,200 or thereabouts FOR ONE HEADLIGHT ???? :o

I can only imagine its expensive but none of the online parts ordering sites I've found recognise those part numbers just yet so we'll have to wait and find out.

to be honest, i dont have a problem with the older lights and wouldnt want to pay for the newer ones regardless of cost. im not a fan of the eyebrows either

im not even sold on the side repeaters although they do look better on some colours than others

I love the side repeaters, in combo with my 313 wheels they've really made the car look nicer. I get that white cars might be different given the original indicators merge in.

yeah they do look good on black.

i think on white, they could look good but the original ones are fine too.... i just dont think it would be much of an improvement to change them on mine

For those interested;

Control conversion equipment;

01 Retrofit wiring harness, headlights LCI 1 03/2013 61122348129 - £22.10+vat
only in conjunction with
-- CONTROL UNIT XENON LIGHT 1 03/2013 63127296090 - £340.75+vat
-- LED main light module 1 03/2013 63117342174 - £477.05+vat
-- Set of LED modules 1 03/2013 63117348935 - £78.98+vat

Then it would appear the headlamps themselves;

01 Bi-xenon headlight, left 1 03/2013 63127348947 - £838.40+vat
01 Bi-xenon headlight, right 1 03/2013 63127348948 - £838.40+vat

That's from RealOEM (part numbers) and pricing from Cooper Parts BMW. Clearly, you'd have to have more money than sense to make the change.
