E89 how to safely open or close roof that gets stuck half way open

Hi Everyone

Please forgive me if this has already been answered somewhere else.

I have always wondered how if possible to safely close or open fully the roof on my Z4 E89 2012 should I be out one day enjoying a sunny day and it get stuck halfway open open.

How do you get home :)

But this doesn't work in case of ony of the typical, age related roof issues of an E89. Neither hope nor pray will help you.

If it's that easy like the KI suggest's, there wouldn't be hundreds of threats regarding this topic in the worldwide Z4 forums in the last decade.
Nevertheless, this topic affects all retractable hardtops, not only E89!
 
AI is just a large and and very expensive parrot that has been fed a whole load of data which it then spits back at you if you ask it a question. The issue remains that it is generally not able to determine how factually correct what it then returns as an answer actually is.

It's still better to go directly to a bona fide source for any information that you are looking for as opposed to settling for AI slop and it is accepted here that @RobbiZ4 knows a bit more about these roofs than many!
 
Thanks for the response again Robbie. Appreciate it may not solve a deeper rooted issue but at least it may be a possible temporary answer to get home in a dignified manner. Just hope it doesn’t get stuck then :)
