E89 exhaust tips

Hi all,

One of my first posts, but am big into my car cleaning. I decided I wanted to polish up my exhaust tips from their brushed look. Lots of wet&dry and metal polish later, and you can see the progress I've made on the far tip, compared to the closest one.



Here's my clean car from last weekend too:



What are your opinions? Polish both, or rub it back to standard?

I would be carefull with the polishing if there like mine its only a thin covering over a base metal

Mine appear to be a matt finish... which looks naff imho!

Are there any alternatives out there?

I prefer the polished look too..no idea why the E89 came with brushed tips...just doesnt work imo

Thanks for the replies!
It is a very thin coating, making it all the more difficult to perfect.
I can't get them off (haven't tried either to be fair) but elbow grease and an appalling social life means I get them done alright.
A few weeks in and the polished one only needs a quick bit of hand polishing after cleaning the car to get it shiny again!
