e89 Coding

Anyone abl to tell me what OBD -> USB cable I can use to code my e89? From what I can tell ISTA/P is going to be what is needed. I'm going to be coding a new junction box this coming weekend. Any tips (or anyone that does remote coding) would be greatly appreciated.

The only cable worth bothering with is Bimmergeeks one. https://www.bimmergeeks.net/product-page/bimmergeeks-pro-cable

Any others on the market will have the faulty conversion logic for the DCAN protocol, which can cause bricked modules and all operations take longer which leaves more chance of a dead battery.

It won't get to you for the weekend though.

Thanks @R.E92!
@tintoverano - Since ISTA/P is the programming arm of the ISTA products (as opposed to the diagnostic only capabilities in ISTA/D) I was under the impression that it was the required path for module recoding. Is there an alternative?

You can still use ISTA/P, you just have to be careful not to let it do a full vehicle re-programming session. WinKFP would be the better solution for just flashing a single module though.
