e89 blow off valve

Yes you can fit a blow off valve…for noise..an uprated DV valve from GFB would be better for performance/car..

Modern turbo air management systems are predicated on DVs recirculating excess boost..a blow off valve ‘wastes’ that excess boost and results in slower spool..FWIW

Never understand making car do that stupid noise.
I fitted one on my Evo 25 years ago. It was great! Constantly 'chirping' away then a big 'pssst' when giving it some. They did have quite high boost pressures from the factory (around 20 psi IIRC) so were pretty noisy! :D

As Peter said, I don't think they are the best idea on modern turbo cars, as the ECU will keep flagging up boost pressure faults and could affect all sorts of things.

I wanted to do this.

I guess it's not an easy bolt on then..

You need to be a gynaecologist to get to the DV in situ..dropping the turbo to get to it is the other option…

It’s your car…go ahead and make your day ..
