E86 Oil - What and Where?

My E86 has just come up with an amber oil warning light to say that I need to add 1L of oil. What oil type should I top it up with?

Also, does anyone know where to get a pdf copy of the car manual from?

Castrol Edge LL04 for BMW, Merc etc

if you go to halfords, LL04 will be written on the back

If from BMW it will sat LL04 on the front

LL stands for Long Life

as long as it's LL04 you are fine but Castrol is the standard

I think its 0W35.

just call a BMW dealer to confirm

OK, thanks. I've bought some oil from Opies in the end.
