Hello,

I bought a E86 3.0 si Montego Blue with Pearl Grey interior back in July this year and have been back and forth to this forum on almost a daily basis but have now decided to take the plunge and join up .

The only changes I have made are having the wheels powder coated gloss piano black / changed the front grills to matte black and spray painted hubs black not shown in photos / De badged / and had a 4 hour rolling road dyno remap .

I also bought an Eisenmann backbox earlier this year and after the normal wait for it to be made and delivered I ended up having to send it back for a replacement :x The replacement I have been told is currently in production and I am hoping it will get to me before Christmas .

Well I think I have bored the pants off you enough for now so I will leave it at that .

Welcome. The interior is a great contrast to the exterior. Not a fan of black wheels but as long as you’re happy and enjoying it, then that’s all that matters.

Hello Mr. Wilks,

Thank you . I have read many of your informative posts . The outcome was as you would probably expect based on similar results I have seen .

Stock run - BHP - 265.5 WHP - 210.1 @ RPM - 6700 Torque - 299.5 @ RPM - 5300 Temperature 23.3

Stage 1 - BHP - 284.6 WHP - 223.2 @ RPM - 7354 Torque - 312.3 @ RPM - 3050 Temperature 20.7

The car had new spark plugs / air filter and was running on Shell V power .

It feels more powerful than the figures show . I will be going back when the Eisenmann back box turns up to see if it makes any further improvements. I will load up the graph once I have scanned it over to my laptop tomorrow .

Hi Wyldie ,
It took me ages to decide on black but decided to go with it as it picked up on the black around the windows etc and wanted a change from silver .

It`s that Marmite thing again .

Great looking Car,

Was the mapping worth it? Did you have the car for a while before you did it?

I would say the mapping was worth it as the car feels better to drive due to the power being further down the rev range . It feels better than the figures reflect . I had only had the car a few months but have had remaps on cars before . Probably could have waited a bit longer but didn`t . :D

A fine looking Z4. Welcome to the forum.

Thanks buzyg ,

Like many people I spent a lot of time in Cornwall . My Mum used to live in Dunmere near Bodmin close to the Camel trail .

Welcome to the forum.

I had my Montego Blue Coupe with Pearl Grey for over 3 years, until I treated myself to an M Coupe in time for last Christmas. :D

I'm not a big fan of black wheels, but seeing as you have them already your car might look better with black kidney grilles - I definitely preferred mine with them.

Hello and thank you Mr Tidy ,

I wasn`t sure about the Pearl grey until I saw it in the flesh and loved it straight away . Black kidney grilles are now on just didn`t have them when I took the photos . Definitely looks better with them . Would have loved an M but cant drive a manual anymore due to not being able to bend my left leg so it`s auto box and flappy paddles for me now .
