Hi all,
New to posting despite being guilty of mining the forum for good gen for a number of years I have been looking at dashboard rattle threads in an effort to find a solution for the rattle in my 150,000mile E86.
So here’s my solution which may help others at least iliminate it from their search.
I found the two spring loaded bonnet pins on the slam panel had stuck down allowing the bonnet to ever so slightly ‘bounce’ over uneven surfaces this created a knock/rattle which manifested itself behind the dashboard. A few squirts of WD40 and some exercising of the pins seems to have cured it.
