E85 Z4 2.5i, question related to rear disc brakes

I have simple question. Is it possible to change rear discs / pads without messing with parking brake settings? I am planning that i replace only discs and pads, parking brake is now working perfectly and i know it is not the most easy thing to re adjust in Z4.

No need to mess around with the parking brake at all, I just did my rear pads and it was a really easy job especially after watching the following:

I know there is no problem with rear pads, but did you remove discs too?

As said above pads are easy, but discs on the rear require the handbrake adjusters to be backed off through the wheel stud hole, this always worked for me although the official BMW procedure requires the use of a special tool.

I recently replaced all four discs and pads - I was a wee bit worried about the rears and the brake shoes etc.

In the end the rear discs came off with nothing more than some even tapping from behind

The rear discs may come off easily, but if they don't you will need to slacken off the adjuster, it's easy to do with a torch and a flat blade screwdriver through the week bolt hole.
As you are fitting new discs you will have to adjust the shoes to mate up the the new disc.
It's always a good idea while you have it in bits to remove the adjuster and clean all the crud out, it makes adjusting a lot easier in the future.
