E85 Value 2021... What's my car worth?

Hi all. There seems to be a considerable increase in the value of Z4's lately, and not just because its spring time. In general the cars seem to be holding value and increasing month by month.

For insurance purposes, I am really interested to see what you guys think my car is worth? Genuine answers required as I am interested in 2 things... 1) updating my insurers with a more realistic value when my car insurance is due in August 2) A fair appraisal if i decide to upgrade to an E89 next year.

So my car is an 03 3.0i on 130k. Plenty of modifications and work done to it. Runs like a dream and purrs like a kitten. I have full documentation of all items added and their receipts/costs.

Truth is heavily modded cars are much harder to sell and the mods rarely add any extra value unless you can find that perfect buyer who loves the car as is. Always better to put as much back to standard and sell off the mods separately if you want the most money for your car...Imho as your car stands now it may fetch 5k , as standard maybe 4k, it's mainly the low mileage cars, e89 35s and sub 60k 3.0si that are fetching top dollar at the moment, high mileage pre facelifts aren't seeing the same sort of percentage increase value wise although there is some increase on previous years..all just imho

If I'm honest I would say that in most instances modifications detract from value rather than add to it, value is added by rarity, desirable options and colour, low mileage, low ownership and most importantly to me history & proof of maintenance.

Advertised prices increasing, sure, but sold prices on eBay seem the same.

The mantra on here is “buy on condition”, however people in the wider world are influenced by pricing guides which are nearly always age and mileage related until you get into real classic territory, which the E85 is not into yet.

£5k for a 03 3.0i on 130k would be very strong money indeed IMO, unless the right buyer came along who was keen on your particular mods.

There's not many modifications except cosmetic and the exhaust (and obviously wheels which most people change anyway)

Thanks for your input guys. Tbh it's about the answers I was expecting!
