e85 steering grumble.

After a few miles on the road the steering of my 2008 e85 2.0i starts to grumble at low speed. At least l only hear it at very low speed, in car parks etc. The steering feels normal but sounds as though a dry joint is grumbling.
Grateful for any ideas. MOT a few weeks old. Thanks in advance.

I started to get grumbling noises when I turned the steering to certain positions at low speed, especially after you started the engine… it was a groaning/grumble.

I've no idea if it was a coincidence but my EPS died shortly after. Since I’ve changed it, the noise has disappeared.

It could be something completely different and I’m sure someone with a lot more knowledge will be along shortly… but if your power steering goes then drop me a message!

I’d take time to grease all union joints and the rack itself- a fairly simple job. That fixes 80% off grumbles
